The Rockets were outscored 30-20 in the 4th quarter and 11-9 in overtime last night and it did them in. Goran Dragic (22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists) and Coutney Lee (20 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) led the way for the Rockets in this game. Chandler Parsons (14 points), Luis Scola (13 points) and Marcus Camby (10 points) also pitched in for the Rockets last night. The Rockets are now 28-25 on the year.

Houston Rockets 98, Memphis Grizzlies 89

The Rockets shot 52.1% from the floor and they held the Grizzlies to 37.2% shooting from the floor and it helped them win last night. Goran Dragic led the way for the Rockets last night with 25 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal. Courtney Lee also had a really solid game with 17 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals). Chase Budinger (13 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist), Luis Scola (11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot) and Marcus Camby (7 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals and 6 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Rockets last night. The Rockets are now 28-24 on the year.

Goran Dragic has been outstanding for the Houston Rockets lately

25-year old point guard Goran Dragic has been thrust into the starting lineup lately due to Kyle Lowry being sick and he’s making the most of his opportunity so far. In Dragic’s 13 starts this year, he is averaging 37.0 minutes, 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He has now played in 51 games (13 starts) so far this year for the Rockets and he is averaging 23.7 minutes, 9.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The Rockets need Dragic to keep playing well as they are in a dogfight for a playoff spot.

The Houston Rockets have signed Malcolm Thomas to a 10-day contract

The Rockets have signed 23-year old rookie power forward Malcolm Thomas to a 10-day contract. He played in 3 games (0 starts) earlier this year for the Spurs and he averaged 5.0 minutes, 0.3 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.3 assists per game. The Rockets have sent Thomas to the D-League to get a good look at him.

The Houston Rockets sign Courtney Fortson for the rest of the year

The Rockets have signed 23-year old point guard Courtney Fortson for the remainder of the season. Fortson has played in 5 games (0 starts) for the Rockets so far this year and he is averaging 7.2 minutes, 2.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He is only shooting 31.3% from the floor so far this year and that is pretty awful. Fortson will battle Earl Boykins for minutes behind Goran Dragic until Kyle Lowry returns to action.
