The Rockets jumped on the Hawks tonight as they got back on the right track. Kevin Martin led the way for the Rockets tonight with 27 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Luis Scola (21 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals) and Chase Budinger (17 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) also had solid games for the Rockets tonight. Jordan Hill (11 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Kyle Lowry (2 points, 6 rebounds, 18 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) also filled up the boxscore for the Rockets tonight. The Rockets are now 2-2 on the season.

Memphis Grizzlies 113, Houston Rockets 93

The Rockets got whacked pretty hard last night in Memphis. The Rockets got outrebounded 42-33 and they didn’t play ANY D as the Grizzlies shot 56.3% from the floor. Kevin Martin (21 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal) and Kyle Lowry (15 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals) led the way for the Rockets in this game. Chandler Parsons (13 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 17 minutes off the bench) and Chase Budinger (11 points and 2 steals) also pitched in for the Rockets. The Rockets are now 1-2 on the year.

Houston Rockets 105, San Antonio Spurs 85

The Rockets dominated the Spurs on both ends of the basketball court last night. They were up 53-35 at the half and that essentially ended the competitive part of this game as the Spurs emptied their bench in the second half. The Rockets shot 50.6% from the floor and they held the Spurs to 37.6% shooting from the floor and that is pretty darn impressive. Kevin Martin led the way for the Rockets last night with 25 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot. Luis Scola (18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Kyle Lowry (16 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals) also had solid games for the Rockets last night. The Rockets are now 1-1 on the year.

Orlando Magic 104, Houston Rockets 95

The Rockets didn’t play any D as the Magic shot 53% from the floor and it doomed them tonight. Kyle Lowry (20 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Luis Scola (19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists) led the way for the Rockets tonight. Courtney Lee (15 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist), Terrence Williams (13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists) and Samuel Dalembert (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Rockets. The Rockets are now 0-1 on the year.

The Houston Rockets sign Samuel Dalembert

The Rockets have signed 30-year old center Samuel Dalembert to a 2-year deal. Dalembert played in 80 games (46 starts) for the Kings last year and he averaged 24.2 minutes, 8.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game. He has now played in 662 games (537 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 26.1 minutes, 8.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.9 blocked shots. This was an excellent signing for the Rockets as Dalembert will give them rebounding and shot blocking in the middle.
