24-year old shooting guard Von Wafer has left the Rockets to sign a 2-year, $10 million dollar contract with Olympiakos of the Greek League. Wafer played in 63 games (11 starts) for the Rockets last season and he averaged 19.4 minutes, 9.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. This will hurt the Rockets as Wafer really stepped up last season. But you can’t blame Wafer for taking the cash. After all, Wafer has played in 109 games (11 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 13.3 minutes, 6.2 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Those are not numbers worth $5 million bucks per season in the NBA.
