The Rockets only shot 38.2% from the floor as a team but it didn’t stop them from getting a huge home win tonight. Yao led the way for the Rockets with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots. Rafer Alston did a solid job of running the show with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. T-Mac came off of the bench and he was a little off as he only shot 4 of 12 from the floor. McGrady finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 27 minutes. The Rockets have improved to 21-19 on the season with this win.

The Houston Rockets lose Stevie Francis indefinately

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Rockets News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Wednesday 16 January 2008 at 9:22 am

Stevie Francis is out indefinately with a quadriceps injury. Francis’ return to Houston has been a disaster as he hasn’t played well at all this season. Francis has played in only 10 games this season and he’s averaging 19.9 minutes, 5.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Francis also has been shooting more than his fair share of bricks as he only has hit 33.3% of his shots from the floor and 56.5% of his shots from the free throw line.

Chuck Hayes is making the most of his limited minutes for the Houston Rockets

Blogged under Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page, Uncategorized by alleyoop on Saturday 5 January 2008 at 5:08 pm

Reserve power forward Chuck Hayes has seen his minutes reduced this season but he is still giving a great effort when he’s on the court. Hayes has played in 33 games this season for the Rockets and he is averaging 22.6 minutes, 3.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He is also shooting 54.1% from the floor but that shouldn’t surprise anyone as most of his shots come from close range. One area he needs to improve on is his free throw shooting as he has only made 3 of 11 so far this season.
