The Rockets select Brad Newley from Australia in the 2nd round
Shooting guard/small forward Brad Newley has been an outstanding player and it’s not known if he will move to the United States to play for the Rockets. If he does, the Rockets could have a steal here. Newley is 6′6″, 195 pounds and he’s a great all around basketball player. He has played in 149 games in Australia and he averaged 19.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steal and 0.8 blocks per game. He also is a solid shooter as he’s hit 45.8% from the floor, 36.6% from three point range and 74.4% from the free throw line. This was a low risk/high reward draft pick for the Rockets.

I can guarantee the Rockets have an absolute steal here. Newley is a genuine scorer, and his shooting percentage is exceptional considering the amount of difficult shots he took for the Townsville Crocs last season, being their first choice offensive option. The man has serious speed, can create his own shot and is improving in the passing and defence departments. Few players have come into the Australian NBL and dominated from day one, but Newley has done that. If given playing time when he eventually comes across to the NBA, he has the tools to make a name for himself.
Hi there to all Rockets fans out there,
Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS on the signing of Luis SCOLA. You have no idea what talent great mercurial talent that you have in your roster.
I personally believe with him, alongside YAO and T-MAC, the ROCKETS are going to be a great contender to capture the NBA crown.

Your comments and opinions are much appreciated
It seems as if the Rockets are following the Spurs lead and looking for talent all over the globe. Scola and Newley could give the Rockets a boost off of the bench this season.
