The Rockets played hard Wednesday Night, just not hard enough.  Yao continued his fantastic season with 34 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.  Rafer Alston had one of his better games of the season with 20 points and 8 assists.  Luther Head was very active in this game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Rockets fell to 15-10 on the season with this loss.

Luther Head steppin up

With Tracy McGrady’s back acting up, the Rockets needed someone to step up their play and Luther Head is responding.  Head is a great shooter as he’s hit 49.5% of his 3-point attempts so far this season.  He’s averaging 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game so far this season.  His numbers are skewed a little bit because early in the year he was coming off the bench.  The Rockets need Head to keep playing well so that defenses can’t collapse their defense on Yao.

The Rockets improved to 15-9 on the season with this victory.

Rockets tire in second OT and fall 112-101 to the Lakers

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 16 December 2006 at 1:37 pm

The Rockets looked weary in the second OT after having a rough game with the Warriors on Thursday Night.  They also had no answer as to how to stop Kobe Bryant who rolled up 53 points on them!  Yao continued his domination of the NBA with 35 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 blocked shots!  Rafer Alston directed the attack with skill.  He scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.  Juwan Howard played hard off the bench and scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.  Shane Battier scored 10 points.

The Rockets fell to 14-9 with this loss.
